It will offer case studies comparing his solo efforts (such as The Woman Who Fell to Earth and Resolution) to those co-written or singularly written by other writers under his guidance. Particular attention will be paid to Rosa (co-written by Chris Chibnall and Malorie Blackman), Demons of the Punjab (written by Vinay Patel) and The Witchfinders (written by Joy Wilkinson). These episodes allow us to analyze Chibnall’s handling of issues of race and gender and illustrate his stated goals of opening the program to an even wider audience and his interest in tackling female-centric stories.
